Children's Education...

Where can I take my class to enjoy new experiences in science, nature, arts and local history?

The SLBI has an exciting programme of structured educational workshops, sharing our passion for plants and botany in our historic environment with primary and secondary schools.

Thanks to generous funding from the City Bridge Trust, visits can last up to half a day and will help classes to explore their curriculum needs in plant science, history, literacy and arts.

A visit to SLBI is ideal for:

Visits are available on Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings and Fridays through autumn, spring and summer. Visits last up to 2 hours. We suggest a packed lunch to be taken in nearby Brockwell Park, either on the way to or from the Institute. SLBI has funding from the City Bridge Trust to cover our education work, so visits from schools and youth groups are currently without charge. However, we do ask each group to make a donation of £1.00 per student to support the work of the Institute.

Independent schools price per visit on enquiry.
