Identification and use of plant keys
Due to current C19 regulations this event has unfortunately had to be postponed. Any pre-booked tickets will be usable on a new date once arranged.
One of six sessions, each of which will focus on 3-4 common wild plant families. You will be introduced to each family and their main vegetative and floral characteristics and then practice identification skills, using keys, and examine the plants in the field. This session will be on the pea, mint and figwort families. Participants will use hand lenses to examine the plants, if possible please bring either of the two following books: The Wild Flower Key (Revised Edition) – How to identify wild plants, trees and shrubs in Britain and Ireland (2006) Francis Rose & Clare O’Reilly or New Flora of the British Isles (2019) Clive A.
