Wednesday, 19th August 2020, 19:00 - 20:00
DonationOne of our regular and popular tutors who works as a teacher/artist with natural dyes, printing, cyanotypes and textiles, Zoë, will be giving a talk about the resurgence of interest in botanical colour and sustainability, connecting innovations past and present in this field. In light of environmental concerns in the fashion and textiles industry an insight into a connected, imaginative and plant inspired future. Mindfully connecting design activism, environmentalism and localism. The talk aims to seed thoughts about these connections and look at trends in craft and creative businesses small and large scale looking to nature for inspiration. Also highlighting some beautiful herbarium specimens of heritage dye plants collected by SLBI founder Allan Octavian Hume.
