Exploring the East End – The Trees and Plants of Poplar
Inner City Trees – their folklore and history and other specialist waterway plants

This walk will begin an exploration of London’s East End, looking at trees on the streets of Poplar; how they came to be here, their stories and the traditions and folklore we have attached to them -and including the tree which gave the area its name. It will also look at some of the specialist plants of the area, some of them introduced through the docks or along the local waterways.

Meet at the exit to Langdon Park DLR station on the east side, adjacent to Bright Street, Langdon Park school and the park. The walk will end at Poplar DLR station.
