Fungi Foray – Alton Hampshire
Saturday, 17th October 2020, 13:30 - 17:00
Bentley Station Meadow (Butterfly Conservation Reserve) and Alice Holt Forest, Bentley, near Alton, Hants – for fungi and late flowering plants.
Bentley Station Meadow is a Site of Special Scientific Interest of approximately 13 acres, whilst Alice Holt Forest, once full of oaks some of which still remain, now consists mainly of Corsican pine as well as more broad-leafed species growing on a mainly clay soil. This field trip has ideal settings for discovering both of the above species, and the recent rain will hopefully have encouraged more growth for us to identify.
Dr June Chatfield, OBE
Tickets: SLBI members £25/Non-members £30 1.30 – 5 pm.
Please meet in the station car park at 1.30. The London Waterloo train arrives at 1.20 pm (note that not all trains stop at Bentley and please check your own train times nearer the time). NB No toilets at the station
