Mitcham Common Walk Series: Remembering Uses of Local Plants
Exploring the usage of local plants from the 1920s

We will attempt to return to the 1920s and consider how people viewed and used local wild plants at that time. The duration of the walk will be approximately 90mins and led by Roy Vickery.

Elder, as pictured above is one of the many plants we will look at on this walk, ‘the healingest tree that on earth do grow’, or ‘has the unusual distinction of being useful in every part’.
