Roy Vickery from the SLBI will be leading a botanical survey in part of West Norwood Cemetery
This is an initial survey which will influence a larger one that the SLBI hopes to carry out in the near future.
This will be a learn-together opportunity to improve our plant identification and recording skills. All, including beginners, are welcome.
We regret that as we will be exploring areas with gravestones hidden in long grass the meeting might be unsuitable for people with limited mobility. If there is sufficient demand we will organise a later meeting which will follow tarmac paths, where walking is easier and wheelchairs can be used; if you would like to attend such an event please let us know.If you have a favourite wild flower book to help with identifications and a hand lens, please bring them along.
Roy is a renowned botanist specialising in plant-lore and also president of the SLBI, as well as the author of Vickery’s Folk Flora.
NB Participants are limited 10 currently please observe usual distancing and mask wearing rules if applicable.
Roy will not be wearing a mask for audio reasons i.e. so that he can be heard, but will be happy to should any participant prefer him to.
