Rhyze (Young peoples’ learning and work placement project)

30th May, 14:00 - 30th September, 17:00

Rhyze (Young peoples’ learning and work placement project)

What is it about?
The Rhyze pilot project is a first for the SLBI. Funded by the Walcot Foundation, and coordinated by our newest member of staff Shanelle Webb, it is a 12-week programme for Lambeth young people on low incomes or from low income families (ages 16-24 years) with an interest in learning about plants, how they grow, storytelling and green spaces.

Shanelle will be running a series of taster sessions over the next few weeks, with the aim to recruit 6-8 participants onto the full summer programme.

For 8 weeks over July and September they will attend a regular Rhyze programme of activities and trips, culminating with a 4-week paid work placement in an environmental or green organisation, a garden or green space of their choice.
