Summer Holiday Activities – Hapa-Zome Plant Dyeing* 5 – 11 years
Tuesday, 31st August 2021, 14:00 - 15:30
A FREE natural leaf and flower dyeing workshop using the Japanese technique of hapa-zome
Create mandalas (circular patterns) and naturalistic scenes by hammering flowers and leaves into fabric squares of calico.
The natural pigments will transfer to the fabric to make a botanical image made from plant dyes. A fun and simple activity, especially if you like bashing with a hammer!
Sarah Webley, SLBI Education and Outreach Co-ordinator
Ages 7 – 11 years
Tickets: Free but £5 deposit per child* with one carer, refundable on attendance.
Please book via the Eventbrite booking system below.
*Please note: Thanks to funding from City Bridge Trust for our Botany on Your Plate project we are able to offer refundable tickets for this event. If you are able to pay this sum we would be very appreciative of you making this fee a donation to the SLBI – thankyou
