Saturday, 25th February 2023, 14:00 - 16:00

Winter Tree Walk – Clapham Common
Explore Clapham Common and surrounding streets to learn how to recognise trees in winter and how to improve biodiversity in your local lands

Bob Gilbert will provide his usual fascinating and entertaining mix of stories, looking not just at trees but any other exciting plants such as pavement ‘weeds’ that we come across.

Bob Gilbert is the author of Ghost Trees: Nature and People in a London Parish (Saraband, 2018) and The Green London Way (Lawrence & Wishart, 2012). Bob’s new book The Missing Musk; A Casebook of Natural Mysteries comes out in May.

He has written a column for Ham & High on urban wildlife for the last twenty years. A contributor to TV and radio, including Natural World and BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme, Bob has also been a stand-up comedian, a long-standing campaigner for inner city conservation and chair of `The Garden Classroom’, a charity that promotes environmental education in London.

Meet at Clapham Common Underground station by the clock tower.

Tickets: SLBI Members £20/Non-members £25
