Grow Your Own Salad

Would you like to grow your own salad? Join us on our children’s half-term workshop over the May half term.

We’ll be making our own eco-friendly paper pots from strips of newspaper so that we can sow our favourite salad leaf seeds (choosing from a wide selection like mizuna, komatasuna, mustard greens, sorrel, violet cress and more), plus herbs and edible flowers. All of these can be grown in containers on a balcony or outdoor space – no garden necessary. And don’t forget the tomatoes and radishes! We’ll have a few different varieties to choose from.

To finish off the session, we’ll consider some table top growing by learning about how we can grow more plants from food scraps – all to grow on the windowsill.

The workshop will take place at at Rosendale Allotments, 227 Rosendale Road, Norwood SE21 8LP.

The workshop is aimed at children aged 6-10 years and costs £5.

Please only book for children attending, not carers.

Refreshments are available and there are toilets on site.
