Screening of The Brachen of Berlin
Join us at the SLBI for a screening of Matthew Gandy’s “Natura Urbana: The Brachen of Berlin” as part of our mini-festival on urban flora.

The Brachen of Berlin tells the story of post-war Berlin through its wild plants. In this documentary the changing vegetation of Berlin serves as a parallel history of the city, its history, politics and its future. It takes us on a unique journey through Berlin ranging from the botanical microcosm of cracked paving stones to elaborate attempts to map the entire city in terms of its distinctive ecological zones.

For more information on the film visit https://www.naturaurbana.org/

Doors open at 5pm. The Screening will begin at 5:30pm.  The is an open day at the SLBI from 2pm-5pm that day so please join us early and spend some time exploring the Institute.

With thanks to Matthew Gandy and the West Norwood Free Film Festival for supporting us to screen this film.
