For primary school teachers:
Wednesday 31 January, 5-6pm
This free twilight session will be a great opportunity to come and find out more about plant based community education programmes for schools at two venues: Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses and The South London Botanical Institute.
Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses and the South London Botanical Institute are community education charities who run interactive curriculum-linked plant and nature-based education programmes for schools and families in your local area. Both have exciting and diverse sites, and education programmes offering wide-ranging, hands on learning opportunities where children can discover for themselves where their food comes from, how plants reproduce and much more. In 2018 BPCG and SLBI will be working in collaboration to provide a series of fantastic workshops as part of the SLBI’s ‘ City Bridge Trust funded programme, ‘Botany on Your Plate’.
Incredible Edible Lambeth are a fantastic network of food growers working to improve communities and re-localise the food system in Lambeth. They offer wide ranging opportunities to engage communities with their food; including food growing projects in schools.
The London Beekeepers Association are a volunteer run urban beekeeping organisation who promote the fascinating craft of beekeeping, and visit schools to share their knowledge of bees and other pollinating insects.
This twilight session will:
– Give you the opportunity to meet us in person
– Introduce inspiring outdoor learning environments and opportunities on your doorstep
– Offer a unique opportunity to book on to a new funded collaborative session in 2018
