Pond dipping, Wildlife and Pebble Painting

Explore the wildlife in our garden pond and create pebble reminders of your favourite critters.

Identity, Ecology and Climate Justice with Zoe Burt
Wed 28 July, 11am-2pm
Make your own sunprints and explore climate related issues . Come away with unique powerful prints incorporating words, portraits and nature. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy in the SLBI garden! Ages 10 – 15 years.

Project Pollinate

How does pollination happen? Learn about pollinators, how plants attract pollinating insects and what we can do individually to support our local pollinators. From bug hotels, butterfly feeders, bee baths and seed bombs, there are many small ways we can help.
Ages 7 – 11 years.

Growing Young Minds

A botanical experience for little ones. In the first of our workshops for little ones, we will explore the beautiful garden at the SLBI and create our own botanical themed bracelet.
We will learn about seeds and plant some to take home to remember our garden walk. Ages 2-3 years.

Hapa Zome
Tues 10 Aug, 11am-12.30pm
A natural leaf and flower dyeing workshop using the Japanese technique of hapa-zome.
Create mandalas (circular patterns) and naturalistic scenes by hammering flowers and leaves into fabric squares of calico. Ages 7 – 11 years.

EDEN One Song One Seed

A music-nature workshop on ‘the journey of a seed’. Led by Sophie Dand and Rachel Walters in
collaboration with the International Teaching Artist Collaborative ITAC and the South London Botanical Institute. Ages 5 – 8 years.
