Beautiful Blues – Make a scarf (in-person workshop)

Learn about a dye made in Wales from a 17th century recipe using Indigo leaves.

A simple and elegant introduction to natural dyes and textiles using a resist pattern technique to make a unique design.

We will be using PEACE SILK – a type of silk where the silk worms have not been harmed in the process of making the fabric.

A fun and experimental workshop to include a talk, presentation and tour of the SLBI’s small dye garden with Zoë Burt.

Zoë Burt is a local designer, educator and award winning artist. Trained at Central St Martins, she designed for UK fashion labels for nearly 20 years.

Zoë tutors in colleges, universities and facilitates experiential workshops for world class venues that promote the intersection of design, craft and horticulture.
