Summer Plant Walks – St Peter & St Paul’s Churchyard, Church Rd, Mitcham
Flowers growing in Churchyards

Roy Vickery will lead this walk studying the wildflowers that thrive in our churchyards, St Peter & St Paul’s is one of the largest in London so it should have some prolific plants growing there. The church is built on the site of a Saxon burial ground and there has been a church here since the 13th century. (Note: this is the church on Church Road, Mitcham, not the one of the same name on Cranmer Road!)

Roy is a renowned botanist specialising in plant-lore and also president of the SLBI, as well as the author of Vickery’s Folk Flora.

NB Participants are limited to the numbers currently permitted by the government regarding social distancing, presently 6 people at 1+ metres, should that change we will update the ticket availability.

Roy will not be wearing a mask for audio reasons i.e. so that he can be heard, but will be happy to should any participant prefer him to.

Tickets £10 Meet at the church entrance, Church Road.
